Community Groups

What is Community?

The desire for community is everywhere in all cultures because it is embedded into how we’ve been created. From the local coffee shop, to social networking sites, Internet gaming, country clubs or sports, we all have an innate desire to belong. The question is not, “Will we engage in community?” Instead we ask, “What type of community will we engage in?” Our desire is that everyone would find a small group of people to do life with, so that you would know and be known and love and be loved.

Community at Welsh Baptist Church can be experienced in a variety of ways. Among other means, it can be pursued through Small Groups and Bible Studies.

Groups

Our hope is that we would not just simply hang out with each other, but rather, that we would engage in a battle for deep and abiding relationships within the body. The best opportunity we have for that is through our groups. Gathering in groups creates an atmosphere that causes believers and non-believers to grow in their understanding and application of God’s direction in our lives. Groups help create the biblical community we seek. Currently, we offer to types of groups: Welsh Kidz and Adults.

Welsh Kidz

Sunday Mornings

Each Sunday, our Kids Team works hard to create a safe and meaningful class experience for your children. Doors will open at 10:15AM to give you plenty of time to check in your child before the Sunday worship gathering begins. We currently have classes available for children ages 6 Weeks through 5th Grade.

Scripture is clear that parents have been given the joy and responsibility of raising their children in the ways of Jesus. Parents are the primary voice and point of influence in a child's life. As children experience both pain and joy in life, parents are to help their kids see life in light of the gospel.

We want to come alongside parents as they take the lead in the spiritual development of their children. It is our hope to equip, encourage and minister to families by providing resources and opportunities that help them worship and learn together.

Our Mission

The mission and vision of Welsh Kidz is "To partner with parents to build a firm spiritual foundation for their children." We believe that there is much to be gained when parents and the church work together. 

Safety & Security

We believe children are a gift from God and we take their safety very seriously. Your children will be supervised by trained volunteers who have undergone thorough background checks and security screening. We provide a safe, secure, and fun environment for your children while you participate in our Sunday worship gathering.

Adults

In our ministry to adults (anyone 18 or older), we no longer have singles, men’s, women’s or college ministries. That doesn’t mean we don’t minister to those demographics only that we don’t feel as if we must gear a ministry toward a particular group to reach that group. 

This philosophy, along with a driving passion that church consists not of a building and not merely of preaching and singing, but in being the body of Christ and sharing life together, has driven us to funnel all our adult ministry in and through our Groups Ministry. Groups serve as the primary way we do our ministries to men, women, single, married, young and not so young. We gather together in recognition of our inability to do life alone. Our hope is to create unity in diversity as people interact with those who are perhaps a little unlike themselves.
